POWER is diligently monitoring the situation around COVID-19 (coronavirus), paying close attention to CDC guidelines and updates from the Allegheny Health Department. The health and safety of our clients, staff, volunteers, and supporters are our top priority.

Treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders as well as recovery support services are available and can be safely provided!

All Intake services are provided by telephone. Intake Specialists are working from home and managing all referrals, conducting urgent care screenings, referring clients for critical medical and/or mental health services when indicated, and scheduling all level of care assessments.

Assessment Specialists conduct assessments via face to face electronic means such as Zoom, Google Duo, Face-time, Skype and over the phone when necessary when clients do not have access to face-to-face technology. This includes assessments for Positive Beginnings. We have communicated this change with our community partners, and they are in agreement.

Individual Outpatient counseling and mentoring services are provided by electronic means and phone.

Group therapy is offered via Zoom for Healthcare. This is a HIPAA-approved, online platform that can be accessed using a smartphone or computer.

POWER House is open and accepting new admissions. We have put in place additional protocols to protect staff and residents during this time, including frequent temperature monitoring, increased cleaning schedules, and restrictions on outside visitors.

POWER offices at 907 West St are closed.

If you or someone you know is having trouble with alcohol or other drugs, we are still available to help. Call the POWER Line at 412-243-8755.
