Support her recovery journey.
Treatment works. Recovery is possible.
The choice to enter recovery has never been more difficult or more important.
On Dec 17, 2020, the CDC issued a Health Advisory alert regarding the staggering increase in fatal overdoses in the past year. In Pennsylvania, overdose drug deaths were higher month over month for the first half of 2020 as compared to the same months in 2019. It’s expected that final reports will show an increase in overdose deaths for the first time in several years.
It’s estimated that of the 4.4 million women in America who have a substance use disorder and related emotional health issues, 89.9% are receiving no mental health treatment. The COVID-19 pandemic has put these women at even greater risk. Isolation and increased stress and anxiety are known risk factors for substance use disorders, and women have been hit hardest by the economic hardships of the pandemic.
There is hope.
In its Health Advisory, the CDC recommended expanding access to treatment for substance use disorders, peer navigator programs, and recovery coaching.
Your generous support gives every woman struggling with addiction the chance to reclaim her life and hope for a better future for the next generation. Thank you.
